Challenge 1 - Day 3

The card for day 3 has been completed over a couple days due to not have the umph and I been trying to get out walking and enjoying the weather. With these cards, I did use a template but I can't find the one I had to note it. Which is not surprising since I currently craft in my bedroom which is a mess with craft stuff. Plus I am trying to organise my stamps and dies using the Avery Elle pockets and magnet sheets and they looking so good just need to finish the dies as I am loving the pockets and they making life so much easier and starting now means by time I get a craft room they will be ready to slide into the space that will be set for them.

With this cards, I have done some different colours and not so sure that they work but after watching a youtube video I have linked this video as was interesting (How to avoid muddy colours) on some colour theory I am learning about colours that compliment each other and to figure what not to mix.

On these cards, I also used Dovecraft 3D effect liquid they did not come out as round as I would have liked but they turned out not too bad and well just means I need to practice a little more.





In total, I have got 6 cards out of this pack so far and still plenty papers to go. Will be interesting how many I get in total and how long this challenge will last!!!

I have never been a Christmas card sender if I am totally honest however this year I think that since I have quite a few Christmas cards that maybe this year it is the time to send them out. For the main item on this card I used the Hero Arts Gingerbread Wishes stamp which I recently got on eBay however if I can find a link for somewhere that has it for sale I will. Well, my sister in law and I have started picking up a few things for Christmas I know!! it's only September but hey with 3 kids and 4 adults in the house we need to get started and well the little bits we picked up are mounting up in my bedroom (our current hiding place) and well it needs to get logged (so we don't forget what we have got) and wrapped so sitting at the craft table today doing a little colouring on some Christmas images and having the realisation that I am so lacking in stamps small enough for tags. Although I will be rectifying that very soon. I mean come on who has not seen the new Mama Elephant stamps with the cute snowmen or the elves or the penguins just soo many choices!!!!!! Challenge 1 - Day 1

So the challenge has started and I sat on the pc for a little bit thinking and decided that I wanted to get some sketches to use for card making. I think card sketches are a great tool to help people learn and I follow Kirstie Marcotte on youtube (her channel is linked below) and she uses sketches for all her paper pad using cards and these help me figure out things on this card. On this card, I used the Freshly Made Sketches 295 originally going with the round design as there were some round elements in the cut out of this paper selection but in the end, I decided to go with some plain circle die cuts and a simple birthday sentiment. I will admit if I was to do this card again I would change a few things I would not have used liquid glue to place the black card down as it has warped the card a little and I think I would have raised the flower up so that it set off from the card.
